Belotero® Offers Results For Very Fine Facial Lines

Over time, those lines from normal movement of facial muscles can deepen, giving the face an older and well-worn appearance. Various compounds are available to fill in lines and depressions in the face to give it a smoother and younger appearance, such as Juvaderm®, Radiesse®, and Belotero®. Belotero® is used for various facial problems, with good results and a natural appearance. Your cosmetic doctor can advise whether Belotero® is right for your needs.

What Is Belotero®?

Belotero® is a synthetic form of hyaluronic acid, a natural protein produced in the human body.   This transparent gel compound is injected into fine lines around the eyes, forehead, and mouth to plump them into a smoother appearance. It offers many advantages over other types of fillers because it can fill in very fine lines and be layered to produce the most natural effect. Results last between 6 months to one year.

What Is Belotero® Used For?

Dermal fillers previously available for fine lines were too viscous to be used in these areas. Belotero® injections can fill these finer lines easily, with a natural appearance. It can also be used for lines between the eyes, nasolabial lines that run from the corner of the nose to the corner of the mouth, and other facial depressions. The gel’s flexibility allows it to be used on patients with very thin or delicate skin, making it a popular product for many needs.

The Belotero® Injection Procedure

Belotero® injection is done in the doctor’s office or cosmetic center and generally only takes a few minutes. The needles used to inject dermal fillers are very fine and generally cause only minor discomfort. A topical anesthetic may be used to reduce discomfort if necessary. Your cosmetic doctor will determine where the filler should be injected and how much is needed to provide the best effect.

Aftercare

After the injection, patients are advised to avoid sun exposure, strenuous activity, and alcoholic beverages for 24 hours. Patients may experience minor bruising or tenderness at the injection site for a few hours after the injection. Allergic reactions are rare and generally last less than a week. You should not have an injection if you have a skin infection or are pregnant or nursing.

If you have fine lines that make you look older than you are, call our cosmetic center to discuss whether Belotero® can help give your facial skin a more refined appearance.
