Dr. Charles L. Dietzek, D.O., FACOS

Dr. Charles L. Dietzek is a board certified Vascular Surgeon practicing since 1989. He was a faculty member and the Chief of Vascular Surgery at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-School of Osteopathic Medicine, now named Rowan School of Osteopathic Medicine until July 2005. In August 2005, he founded the Vein & Vascular Institute. He remains a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery volunteer faculty at RowanSOM.
Dr. Dietzek has been named numerous times a “Top Doc” in both South Jersey Magazine and SJ Magazine. He has also been a “Top physician for Women” repeatedly. He has been featured on health segments on CBS3, ABC6, NBC10, and other local and national news programs. Total Vein Care, a national physician training course, was Co–Directed by Dr. Dietzek where he trained more than 1000 physicians in state of the art vein treatment. He is an invited lecturer and respected leader in the treatment of venous disease. The Vein & Vascular Institute is a recognized Center of Excellence and a national training facility for visiting physicians and ultrasonographers in advanced vein testing and techniques.
From 1990-2013, Dr. Dietzek had practiced the full spectrum of vascular surgery including angiography, angioplasty, stents, atherectomy, extremity bypass, aortic aneurysm repair (endovascular stent grafting and open surgery technique), dialysis access, carotid endarterectomy and wound care. Since 2013 he now focuses on Venous Disease evaluation and treatment.
Dr. Dietzek did his undergraduate education in Chemistry at Stony Brook University in New York. His medical school education was at New York College of Osteopathic Medicine and his general surgery training was at UMDNJ-SOM, now named RowanSOM. He completed his vascular fellowship in Cleveland, Ohio.
Dr. Dietzek was Chief of Vascular Surgery and Medical Director of the Vascular Laboratory at Jefferson Health South Jersey for 18 years. He is presently the Medical Director of the IAC accredited vascular laboratory at the Vein & Vascular Institute. Dr. Dietzek was also the founding Medical Director of the Center for Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine at Jefferson Health South Jersey. He has participated in multiple research studies and continues to be involved in clinical research.

Dr. Elias Fakhoury, D.O., FACS, RPVI

Dr. Elias Fakhoury is a New Jersey native, who has dedicated his extensive training and early career to the treatment of patients with both arterial and venous disease. He is Board Certified in both General and Vascular Surgery.
Dr. Fakhoury completed his undergraduate education at Villanova University and his Masters of Science degree at Drexel University College of Medicine. He attended Nova Southeastern College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he was inducted into the Sigma Phi National Honor Society. He completed his General Surgery residency at New York Medical College’s St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson, NJ where he served as Chief Surgical Resident. This was followed by a fellowship in Vascular Surgery at The University at Buffalo- Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. During his fellowship, he received extensive training in traditional open vascular surgery as well as training in the latest minimally invasive endovascular procedures.
Dr. Fakhoury is well published and has had his clinical research presented at regional and national vascular conferences across the country. His research has been published in multiple peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal for Vascular Surgery.

In addition to being a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), he is a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation (RPVI), a member of the American Venous Forum, American Venous and Lymphatic Society, and the Society for Vascular Surgery, where he serves on national committees.

Prior to joining Vein and Vascular Institute, he has been serving the South Jersey Community as a vascular surgeon for Jefferson Health since July 2020. During this time he was also responsible for the education and training of general surgery and podiatry residents.
Dr. Fakhoury has a particular interest in the latest medical technologies and minimally invasive techniques. These special interests have led him to focus on the diagnosis and treatment of all venous diseases including venous reflux, varicose veins, spider veins, venous stasis wounds, lymphedema, deep vein thrombosis (DVT), Iliac vein compression (May-Thurner Syndrome), and Pelvic Congestion Syndrome (PCS).
When out of the office, Dr. Fakhoury enjoys traveling to the shore, hiking local trails, and attending sporting events along with his wife, a South Jersey nurse, and their two sons.

Erika Dietzek, MSN, APN, AGPCNP-BC Nurse Practitioner

Erika Dietzek is a nurse practitioner specializing in the management and treatment of venous disease. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition from Pennsylvania State University in State College, Pennsylvania and then went on to complete a second Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She earned her Master of Science degree in Nursing at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in adult-gerontology primary care.
Erika was a nurse at University of Pennsylvania Hospital (HUP) for three years and then practiced as a Nurse Practitioner in the department of Endocrinology, hospital service, for 2 years prior to coming here. She holds a national board certification with the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Erika is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the American College of Phlebology. She is licensed in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Erika has been with the Vein & Vascular Institute since 2017 and is the daughter of Dr. Dietzek.

If you are unable to keep an appointment, we ask that you kindly provide us with at least 48 hours notice. This courtesy, on your part, will make it possible to give your appointment to another patient.

We accept most major insurance plans. Some of these plans include, but are not limited to:

Aetna, Amerihealth, Amerihealth Administrators, Anthem BCBS, Cigna, Horizon BCBS, Horizon NJ Health, Independance Administrators, Independence BCBS, Independance PC, Keystone, Medicare, Oxford, Qualcare, United Health Care.

Please contact our office to verify our participation. Remember to bring your insurance cards and, if needed, your referral. Please come prepared to pay your specialist co-pay at the time of service. All pertinent radiology films and lab test results should be brought to our office at the time of your visit.
