“I was able to get right back to my normal activities.”
In 1994, Arthur’s leg became hot, red, swollen and very painful. He was referred to Dr. Dietzek by his primary care physician. Initially, Dr. Dietzek was able to treat the veins in his legs. He was told at the time, though, that if it happened again, the vein would need to be stripped.
When Arthur’s leg flared up again, he went back to Dr. Dietzek and was very pleased to hear of the advances in vein surgery, specifically the VNUS Closure® procedure. He was told that this procedure was a breakthrough in treatment for venous reflux disease and precludes the need for drastic surgery. When Dr. Dietzek further explained the procedure, Arthur was happy to learn the VNUS Closure procedure was non-invasive.
The procedure was done in the office under local anesthetic and Arthur said he didn’t feel discomfort during the procedure. He said he walked out of the office that afternoon and, while he had his daughter pick him up as a precaution, he felt sure that he could have driven himself home.
Arthur said he noticed improvement in his leg immediately. Dr. Dietzek had told him to wear compression stockings for one week however, at his check up a few days later Dr. Dietzek told him he could discontinue wearing the stockings since his leg had healed. After 2 weeks of taking it a bit easy, Arthur was right back to his normal activities.
